Powerlifting Team Training
What is a MEET?
Lifters compete in 3 lifts: Squat, Bench, and Deadlift. You can also choose to compete in just one of these lifts or sometimes do a push/pull deadlift and bench only. You get 3 tries at each lift. You can compete in the open class or in your age class. At our first team session we will review how the meet will work and some basic guidelines.

On Dec 7 2024 Be Awesome will be hosting a USPA non-drug tested Powerlifting Meet here at the gym, the Western Mass Winter Blast. This will be a small local meet and beginner friendly. Powerlifting competitions consist of the barbell back squat, deadlift, and bench press. At this meet you can compete in all three OR in just deadlift or just bench. You do not need to be able to lift super heavy - everyone starts somewhere - and everyone has their own personal goals. Open to all ages 13+ and levels of ability.

Coach Beth is offering TEAM training in powerlifting. You can participate whether you just want to learn powerlifting movements OR if you want to train to compete at our event. TEAM training will include weekly SUNDAY morning 9:30am-10:45AM group training, Coach Beth will write your training program for Oct-Dec, and have weekly evaluation check-ins with you through our coaching app.

Info from USPA: Transgender Lifters: Everyone is welcome to compete in the USPA non drug tested division and will be held to the same set of rules as stated in our rule book, whether lifting as a male or female. All lifters must show ID and a membership card at weigh-in. Athletes must register within the same gender category as shown on their ID and membership card. The USPA welcomes all lifters and will always do our very best at all times to accommodate all members.
