Powerlifting Team Training
What is POWERLIFTING?
Powerlifting is a sport consisting of three lifts: the squat, bench press, and deadlift. The goal of the sport is to lift as much weight as possible across the three lifts while following all the rules. Benefits of powerlifting training are increased strength, increased bone density and reduced risk of injury in daily life., The compound lifts used in powerlifting works every muscle group in the body and, improve coordination Some people compete in powerlifting while others use powerlifting techniques as part of a personal strength routine.
What is a POWERLIFTING MEET?
Lifters compete in 3 lifts: Squat, Bench, and Deadlift. You can also choose to compete in just one of these lifts or sometimes do a push/pull deadlift and bench only. You get 3 tries at each lift. You can compete in the open class or in your age class. At our first team session we will review how the meet will work and some basic guidelines.Powerlifting competitions consist of the barbell back squat, deadlift, and bench press. At this meet you can compete in all three OR in just deadlift or just bench. You do not need to be able to lift super heavy - everyone starts somewhere - and everyone has their own personal goals. Open to all ages 13+ and levels of ability.
